Manuscript Submissions
OUR SUBMISSION WINDOW IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.
GUIDELINES FOR WHEN WE RE-OPEN – PLEASE DON’T SEND US:
- Multiple submissions. Choose the work you think best aligns with our catalogue and ethos.
- Works from creators currently living outside of Australia.
- Stories about war/military, religion, holidays, bullying, farming, zoos, dogs, sports. (Nothing against these topics, just not the right fit for us.) We’re also generally not the best fit for fantasy or historical.
- Anything made using generative AI. Ever.
Self-Publishing
We are currently taking a break from assisting with self-publishing projects, but please check back as this may change in the future.
Illustrator Submissions
We are always looking to expand our pool of illustrators, as well as work with illustrators on developing their own children’s book ideas. Please note:
- Currently we are only accepting submissions from Australian residents only. Submissions from outside Australia will be deleted.
- We pay all our creatives, but we are a small indie publisher – and our budget reflects that.
- We are happy to accept submissions from emerging illustrators and students, artists working in digital and/or traditional media, and encourage artists from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
- We do NOT accept artwork made using generative AI tools.
