Literary Excursions for school groups in the Blue Mountains
Loose Parts Press and RoseyRavelston Bookshop have joined up to bring local students some exciting new workshops that make a great school excursion. With a growing catalogue of children’s literature, we’ve got options for pre-schoolers, up through Stage four high school students, with links to English Curriculum and more.

Our experienced educators will plan a customised and interactive workshop for your group, offering a unique opportunity to learn from local authors and publishing professionals.
About Our Facilitators
All workshops are facilitated by Loose Parts Press publisher Sharon Baldwin and/or editor Katie Alexander. Where noted, authors may also attend when available. Sharon and Katie both have WWCC clearance, First Aid certification and extensive teaching experience.

Sharon Baldwin runs LPP’s weekly drama classes, and has been teaching art, drama and creative writing holiday workshops, after-school programs and playgroups throughout Sydney and the Blue Mountains for ten years. She runs regular Story Time programs at Good Earth and RoseyRavelston bookshops.
Sharon is the publisher of Loose Parts Press and has authored “What Is It?”, “P is for Permaculture” and “The Gardeneers” book series.

Katie Alexander has spent the past decade as a secondary school teacher and now uses her Literature degree as a freelance editor. She also works (and rolls around on the mats) at Lawson jiu jitsu.
Katie is an editor with Loose Parts Press and has worked on numerous picture books, and most recently our middle grade novel “The Lost Ghosts of Lawson.”
